I reached out to Emily to discuss strategies to manage and lower stress levels and improve my overall health. I was a little skeptical at first, but after meeting with Emily for a month, I found it to be a great experience. My first session with Emily was very informative as she helped me understand the benefits of incorporating movement throughout my day and drinking water. She also taught me the importance of stress management. It is so easy to get caught up in life’s busyness that we forget about taking time out to relax and unwind. Yet, we all need this downtime.

After our initial meeting, I began incorporating simple strategies we discussed to help me achieve balance in my life. I had challenges last week with working too long and getting stiff, and I actually sat wrong for those long hours, which caused some issues. So I rearranged my desk this week to make sure I am sitting straight.

I am on it this week! I am up at 6:00 am to work out and be in the Word. My [food intake] is going well, and I’m down another pound with ten more lbs. to go. We had good news regarding my husband’s cancer, and I am counting my blessings.

Thanks for being a true “wellness” coach and looking at our whole environment. I will stick to the first fitness video until I do not have to use the low-impact options. Anyway, thanks again for listening and taking the time for the research.

I came to wellness coaching because I wanted to discuss my nutrition and weight loss goals. I was struggling to stay motivated and feeling overwhelmed about starting my weight loss journey. Since working with Emily in early March (2022), however, I identified areas that were holding me back, started walking and jogging with our dog, and stopped stress eating and snacking late at night. I also replaced my usual sweet tea and Dr. Pepper with more water, and I’m feeling more hydrated. I gained more energy to take care of my family, including coaching my son’s tee ball team. I really enjoyed my session with Emily. I appreciated going over my health history and getting sound advice. We talked about things that I hadn’t considered before, and I got a lot of new information about herbs and Celiac disease as well as gluten sensitivity and how it may impact my health. I also learned that I actually enjoy speaking to someone about my health journey and hearing feedback. If someone is on the fence about working with Emily, I would say it doesn’t hurt to try health coaching.
